Analog Sensors
CloudRail Use Case
Usage of Analog Sensors (4-20mA or 0-10V)
CloudRail works best with IO-Link sensors. Nevertheless, when specific sensors are required for particular applications, they might not be available with the IO-Link communication interface. For these use-cases, the IFM analog to IO-Link converters DP2200 and DP1222 can translate analogue sensor signals 4…20 mA or 0…10 V into digital IO-Link communication. Using them enables the use of older analogue sensors in IIOT-projects. There is even the possibility to convert IO-Link values into two independent analogue output signals, either 4…20mA or 0…10V using the converters DP1213 and DP1223. There are even large IO-modules available to connect up to 8 sensors without a converter. Contact us for more details.
For a demo of the analogue converter DP2200 just check out our short video in this blog post.
When selecting an unknown sensor, the conversion ratio needs to be defined in an edge function or in the cloud-service.
